This round porcelain vase is covered in brushstrokes of different soda slips. It was then lightly spray glazed and soda fired. It feels like a fusion of my painting style and my ceramic practice.
The bottom has been sanded smooth. One of the wads used to fire this piece in the soda kiln became embedded in the soda glaze on the bottom. This is common for soda fired work and does not detract from the function of the piece.
