Fruit Bowl: Curvy Splash Bowl 1

The repeating curves on this vessel are a delight to form and result from being in the mood to play with the vessel while it's on the wheel. The inside base of the bowl was also carved with a large circle of repeating dash marks to add a patterned texture under the color. The lip of the bowl is wavy; the rest of the bowl is symmetrical. The bowl is made from a porcelain stoneware blend. It was made carefully and then glazed liberally with overlapping blue, green, clear and rust and butter yellow glazes on the inside that blend to make different colors and finishes. It is glazed cream on the outside. I really enjoy the overlap of glazes when they are allowed to run into each other with little control and only some direction. Perfect as a fruit bowl, serving bowl or centerpiece. 8.75" wide. 3.75" tall. 2 pounds 6 ounces. This piece has a partner that is also listed.
